Honorees

Laurel County Homecoming Honoree Awards are presented for a variety of categories:

MAN OF THE YEAR
Age 21 or older • Has made a significant contribution to the Laurel community through public or private service, paid or volunteer in the last twelve months • Areas of contributions can include education, volunteer service, business leader, innovative contributions • Native Laurel Countian or resident of Laurel County for minimum of 20 years.

WOMAN OF THE YEAR
Age 21 or older • Has made a significant contribution to the Laurel community through public or private service, paid or volunteer in the last twelve months • Areas of contributions can include education, volunteer service, business leader, innovative contributions • Native Laurel Countian or resident of Laurel County for minimum of 20 years.

LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT 
Age 40 or older • Has made significant contribution to Laurel community through public service, paid or volunteer • Native Laurel Countian or has lived in Laurel County for minimum of 20 years.

HUMANITARIAN
An individual who has made a positive contribution to Laurel community through private organizations or individually • Contributions can include past service as business or civic leader • Native Laurel Countian or resident of Laurel County for minimum of 20 years.

NON-PROFIT
A group that has made a positive contribution to Laurel community through private organizations • Contributions can include past service as business or civic leader • Minimum service as organization of 10 years • Must have a local Laurel County branch.

BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
Must be operational for minimum of 10 consecutive years • Family operated is major consideration for nomination • Must operate within Laurel County.

OUT OF TOWNER
Age 18 or older • Native Laurel Countian • Has made achievement in business, education, public service, arts, science, or technology • Contributions can include public or private service, paid or volunteer • Must live outside Laurel County.
